Jewell and Helen Ellerman and Connie Locke worked in the Schell City United Methodist Church basement Tuesday, April 30, getting ready for their sale, then ate at Madalyn’s Kitchen.
Ed and Mary Henderson of Texas came Monday, April 29, to spend some time with her mother, Ruth Ijams. Mary took a course from the University of Phoenix and she graduated at Lee’s Summit Saturday, May 4. She visited with her sisters, Jeanie O’Brien, of Schell City, and Peggy O’Brien, of Grandview, and other relatives.
Connie Locke visited her parents, Ben and Gloria Locke, at Nevada Friday evening, May 3.
Those having dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen after church Sunday, May 5, were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Frances Lewis, Gay Joe Bunn, Gayle Grinder, Eternity Dunn and Brett Bond.
Church service was held at the Schell City United Methodist Church Sunday, May 5. Pastor Connie Locke’s sermon “Water and the Word” was taken from John 5:1-9. It was Communion Sunday. Items were brought for Community Outreach. Sunday School was held before church. Jeanie O’Brien led the lesson “A Living Hope” taken from I Peter 1:3-12.
Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, May 5. Brother Cliff Bennett’s sermon “Where Had Faith Gone” was taken from Mark 4:35-41. They had their first Sunday dinner after church.
The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women are working in the church basement Tuesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. getting ready for their sale. Donations can be brought at this time and volunteers are welcome. The sale will be held May 17 from 8-4 and Saturday, May 18, from 9-1 in the church basement. Most items are 25¢ except for the bake sale. The bake sake is Friday only.
