Once again, El Dorado Christian School made a strong showing at the Ft. Scott JV Track Meet. Teams present included Paola, Nevada, Ft. Scott, among others.
Top place finishers from ECS were: Hans Miller: 1st in Pole Vault with a vault of 10 ft.; 1st in 300 intermediate hurdles with a time of 44.40 seconds, 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 18′ 6 3⁄4″ and 3rd in the javelin at 111 feet.
Ben Middleton, competing in his first year of track and field, had a strong day of performances winning the high jump and turning in personal best in the 300 Intermediate Hurdles and 800 Meter Run. Dayton Robison rounded out the throwing events for ECS.
On the girls’ side, Sarah McKinney finished 4th in the girls pole vault with teammate Jessica Jones taking the bronze medal in the pole vault with a vault of 7’0″. Chaney Housh brought home bronze in the triple jump, silver in the 400 meter and won the gold in long jump with a jump of 14′ 8 1⁄2″. Teammate Brittany Kramer took 3rd in the long jump and won two gold medals for her efforts in the triple jump and the 400 meter run.
The Buffalos made their presence known in the high jump. Leading the group was Bailee Bybee who cleared 4’8″ which captured the 3rd place position. Chaney Housh and Brittany Kramer cleared 4’6″ and Lindsay Daniel rounded out the Buffalos in this event clearing the bar at 4’4″. Lindsay also gave strong performances in the 800 meter run and 300 meter hurdles.
Jessica Jones, Sarah McKinney, Chaney Housh and Brittany Kramer sealed the evening with a silver medal win in the mile relay.
