RESCUED MUTT – Tori Fugate, daughter of Harold and Robin Fugate El Dorado Springs, accompanied by Kia, the internationally famous 12 week old rescued Terrier/Schnauzer, spoke with the Sun Tuesday afternoon while enduring a long wait in the JFK Airport after taping a segment for the Rachel Ray Show that morning with Kia. The dog, weighing only three pounds, was noticed on the dash of a locked Suburban in a Kansas City impound lot on May 6 where it had been since April 8. She has since gained two pounds. Tori’s interview with Regis Philbun on the Rachael Ray Show will be aired this Friday: in Springfield on KCZ-LP Channel 15 at 8 a.m.; in Joplin on KSNF Channel 16 at 3 p.m. and in Kansas City on KMBC Channel 9 at 9 a.m. Tori, who has been Donor Engagement & Community Events Coordinator at the KC Pet Project (KCMO Animal Shelter) for over a year, said there have been adoption offers from all but six of the United States, plus England, France, Malaysia and Zambia. The pup is staying with a foster family for a couple of weeks then will be evaluated for adoption, she said.
