NURSING ASSISTANT OF YEAR RUNNER-UP – Community Springs Healthcare is proud to announce that their very own Brittany Berry, has won runner-up for the Nursing Assistant of the Year Scholarship Award. Every year the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination is faced with an impossible task of choosing a winner and two runners-up from hundreds of outstanding and deserving nurse assistants. Brittany was nominated by her peers as someone that has demonstrated a dedication to the care of the residents, a great attitude, a willingness to go beyond the call of duty and a desire to continue her education in nursing. Brittany received a certificate celebrating her success, as well as a $500 Scholarship from Cerner Extended Care and American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination. From all of the residents and staff at Community Springs and Citizens Memorial congratulations Brittany, you deserve it.
ECS STUDENT RECEIVES HONOR AWARD – El Dorado Christian School Fourth grader, Tevis Edmiston, received Honorable Mention at this year’s George Washington Carver Art and Essay Contest. Tevis won this award for his essay about this year’s theme, “If I could spend the day with George Washington Carver.” Thirty-six schools participated in the contest. TWO RECEIVE ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS – At the El Dorado Springs High School awards ceremony on Thursday, May 2, Sharron Robison Knutson, president of the Alumni Association presented the Association’s two $1,000 scholarships to Ginelle Esry and Taylor Floyd. Ginelle is the daughter of Gary and Nancy Esry and Taylor’s parents are Roger and Terry Floyd.
