Shannon Gray sings at NEVC Baccalaurate 3 cc.tif

Graduates of NEVC High School held a baccalaureate program at the high school campus at Walker Wednesday evening, May 8. Doug Reynolds, pastor of First Baptist Church of Schell City, gave the invocation and gave a special reading. Shannon Gray, a 2009 NEVC graduate and music major at Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, sang a couple of special songs. Devin Robertson, youth pastor from the Walker Christian Church, gave the Baccalaureate Address. He tossed a big ball of tangled string and told the graduates the string represented their life and asked “What are you going to do with it?” He told them the little radar at the beginning of the string was the foundation they were building on and would affect all the rest of their life. He encouraged them to build that foundation based on God’s Word. The benediction was given by Paul Thorade, pastor of the Christian Church of Schell City. Afterwards, a reception was held in the entryway of the gymnasium. Photo and report by Neoma Foreman
