Mallory Lanser, a senior at El Dorado Springs High School in El Dorado Springs, is the recipient of the 2013 DECA Emerging Leader Honor Award. (In photo, Central Region Scholarship winners from the Midwest. Mallory is second from the right.) This award recognizes students studying marketing, finance, hospitality and management for being an academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leader through participation in DECA. The award recipient must be a DECA member his/her senior year of high school with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better for each of the high school semesters.

Mallory also received an Applegate Scholarship sponsored by DECA’s Central Region. She was recognized during the Grand Award Session at the International Career Development Conference held in Anaheim, CA, this past April. The DECA chapter advisor at El Dorado Springs High School is Kristal Swopes. Mallory is the daughter of Tracy Lanser and Mike Lanser.
