ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made 11 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of Jan. 7 through 14, 2020.

Warrant Arrests

Amanda Crawford- On Jan. 14, Amanda Crawford, 31, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine or methamphetamine, a class D felony burglary in the second degree, and a class A misdemeanor possession of a device designed to open/break into a coin-operated vending machine. Crawford was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a deputy was dispatched to the laundry mat in Lowry City in regards to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the owner of the laundry mat. The owner stated he has camera footage of three individuals that tried to break into his machines. The deputy reviewed the footage and noticed two male subjects and one female subject. In the footage, it was observed that the female subject was trying to open the coin trays in the machines with some type of key. The female was also seen sitting in a chair smoking an unidentified substance from a glass pipe.

Richard Foster- On Jan. 13, Richard Foster, 34, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony burglary in the second degree. Foster was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a deputy was dispatched to the laundry mat in Lowry City in regards to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the owner of the laundry mat. Gary Higgins- On Jan. 13, Gary Higgins, 55, Sugarcreek, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on an original class D felony driving while revoked/suspended. Bond is set at $2,500 cash only.

The original charge stems from a traffic stop by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office in February of 2013.

Harley Wilkerson- On Jan. 12, Harley Wilkerson, 28, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine or methamphetamine. Wilkerson was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in Collins. The deputy arrived in Collins and noticed the reported vehicle making a turn. The deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle. The deputy contacted the driver, later identified as Wilkerson and passenger, later identified as Terry Harjo. Wilkerson stated he was driving because Harjo had wrecked the car earlier and was shook up about it.

The deputy asked for and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search a marijuana cigarette was located along with a plastic bag containing a white crystal like substance, a plastic straw with residue, a syringe, and a bag with marijuana.

Terry Harjo- On Jan. 12, Terry Harjo, 39, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance, a class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine or methamphetamine, and a class D felony delivery or possession of drug paraphernalia in a county/private jail/ correctional center.  Harjo was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in Collins. The deputy arrived in Collins and noticed the reported vehicle making a turn. The deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle. The deputy contacted the driver, later identified as Wilkerson and passenger, later identified as Terry Harjo. Wilkerson stated he was driving because Harjo had wrecked the car earlier and was shook up about it.

The deputy asked for and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search a marijuana cigarette was located along with a plastic bag containing a white crystal like substance, a plastic straw with residue, a syringe, and a bag with marijuana.

While being searched inside the jail, a glass pipe and a spoon was found on her person. The pipe and spoon did field test positive for methamphetamine.

Eric Williams- On Jan. 12, Eric Williams, 32, Deepwater, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear in court on a nuisance violation. Bond is set at $150 cash only.

Williams was also charged by a St. Clair County deputy for a class D felony receiving stolen property and a class E felony resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony. Williams was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The charges come after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 1141 Road in reference to a stolen travel trailer. The owner of the trailer, Roman Herschberger, stated he had a 32 foot Durango fifth wheel out of Henry County.

When deputies arrived on scene, they spoke with Eric Williams and Rebekah Travis. During the conversation, a deputy located the VIN on the trailer. It was a match to the stolen trailer. Eric stated they had borrowed the trailer and did not know it was stolen. When they were told to get their property and leave, Eric acted like he was trying to make a phone call and ended up leaving the scene.

Extra deputies were called to the scene to search for Williams. Williams was located in the loft area of a barn.

Rebekah Travis- On Jan. 12, Rebekah Travis, 28, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony receiving stolen property and a class E resisting or interfering with arrest/detention/stop. Travis was booked and released pending formal charges.

Jordan Dakon- On Jan. 10, Jordan Dakon, 18, Bolivar, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Henry County warrant charging him with a class D misdemeanor driving while revoked/suspended and an infraction for failing to display plates on a motor vehicle. Bond is set at $500 cash or surety.

The warrant stems from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in September of 2019.

Michael Morris- On Jan. 9, Michael Morris, 50, Fairplay, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony abuse or neglect of a child. Morris was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were called to assist a Children’s Division worker on a case.

Brandon Dunn- On Jan. 7, Brandon Dunn, 21, Nevada, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with an infraction for no seat belt. Bond is set at $10 cash only.

The warrant stems from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Aug. of 2019.

Michael Watkins- On Jan. 7, Michael Watkins, 40, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with an infraction for no seat belt. Bond is set at $10 cash only.

This warrant stems from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in April of 2019.

A record check revealed Watkins also has a warrant out of Christian County charging him with a class E felony driving while revoked/suspended. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety.

Burglary in Collins

On Jan. 10, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 925 Road in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with James Perkins. Perkins said when he came to the residence, he found the front door had been pried open and a screen from a window had been pulled out and lying on the ground. Perkins stated he was missing a 1,000 foot roll of 12-2 wire, a 1,000 foot roll of 14-2 wire, and 500 feet of miscellaneous copper wire.

Estimated loss value is $700. Perkins did sign a request for prosecution.

Burglary in Deepwater

On Jan. 10, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on NE 1150 Private Road in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Kenneth Marshall. Marshall stated that he had not been to the property since March of 2019. He stated that someone broke into his garage walk-through door. Marshall believed someone took the deep cycle battery to his boat.

Estimated loss value is $200. A request for prosecution was signed.
