Marie Geraldine Austin Baker, 87, El Dorado Springs, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was one of six children born to Charles Orville and Marie Keller in Wild Horse, CO.
Jeri was a graduate of Humansville High School Class of 1943 and recently attended her 70th class reunion in Humansville.
She married Earl Austin on Feb. 18, 1946, and they were the parents of three sons. After 48 years of marriage, Earl passed away Jan. 17, 1995. She later married Cletus Baker and he preceded her in death as well.
Jeri was a homemaker to her family and enjoyed gardening and canning, wishing for some green beans to can just last week. She liked collecting antiques but was also content just being at home with her cat. She loved reading the Bible, her favorite book.
She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Jeri was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl Austin and Cletus Baker; brothers, Lloyd and Billy Keller; brothers-in-law, Wayne Jenkins and Buck Myers.
She is survived by sons – Virgil Austin and his wife, Linda – Arvada, CO, Edwin Austin – Springfield and Harold Austin and his wife, Barbara – Rockville; grandchildren – Kandi, Philip, Daniel, Stacy, Ginger, Angie and Mandy; great-grandchildren – Michael, Cody, Justin, Harrison, Gage and Maddie; sisters, Janice Myers – Humansville and Shirley Jenkins – Stockton; brother, Leo Keller, and his wife, Reva – Collins; sisters-in-law, Shirley Keller and Kay Keller – Humansville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, in Murray Funeral Home, Humansville officiated by Bro. Troy Smith. Burial will follow in the Humansville Cemetery.
