At the March 16 city council meeting, City Manager Bruce Rogers mentioned that there had been interest in a driving range at the city’s Gene Pray Memorial Golf Course. The range will be located behind the number five green. Items needed include a tee box, mat for irons, vending machine for golf balls and a machine to pick up the balls. A parking lot would also be needed.

A golf tournament will be held May 2 – 3 with the proceeds going towards funding for the improvements. Golf Course Manager Dick Gardner expects the tournament to raise between $4,000 and $5,000.

Present at the meeting were Councilmen Jim Luster, Nick Bland, Brett Entrikin, Nathan Murrell and Mayor Cory Gayman as well as Rogers and City Clerk Kandi Baldwin.

Rogers mentioned that codification of the ordinances by Municode is under attorney review and Municode will get back with Bruce when they complete the review.

The council approved an agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation for an Airport Aid agreement. Rogers explained it was a grant agreement for a study of the runway before reconstruction.

Murrell asked if there was a schedule yet for when the potholes were going to get filled. Rogers said it will be the summer, but there isn’t a scheduled date at this time.
