As we are all facing unprecedented times as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cedar County Memorial Hospital asks that all media inquiries be directed to Jeanne Hoagland, Cedar County Memorial Hospital’s Public Relations Director.  This includes media inquiries directed to the Hospital and the Cedar County Health Department.  Mrs. Hoagland can be reached by phone at 417/876-3410 Monday through Saturday or by e-mail at jhoagland@ccmh.co on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Mrs. Hoagland will respond back to the media within 24 hours to note receipt of the question(s) and to verify media deadlines.  She will determine the best person within the Cedar County Memorial Hospital organization to answer the question(s) and provide his/her response(s) back to the media.

It is important to note that on March 19, 2020, Cedar County Emergency Management declared a pandemic emergency within the county.  At that time, all organizations within the Emergency Management organization were instructed by Arlo Rupke, Incident Commander with Cedar County Emergency Management, that communications to the public and media regarding COVID-19 activities required approval by Emergency Management prior to release.  On April 11, Mr. Rupke provided further clarification that Emergency Management approval would not apply if the information for release was regarding a policy or care capability specific to an organization.  Cedar County Memorial Hospital will seek approval from Emergency Management of information prior to release as is applicable.

Cedar County Memorial Hospital appreciates cooperation from the media in following the guidelines as set forth in this release. Both the Hospital and County Health Department are working diligently to keep up with the evolving information regarding COVID-19 and to protect the well-being of patients, staff and the community.
