The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women met Wednesday, Aug. 21, for their regular monthly meeting at Madalyn’s Kitchen. Present were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Madalyn Crocker, Jeanie O’Brien and Sharon Sterling. President Helen Ellerman conducted the business meeting. She gave the devotion taken from Luke 19:45-48. Pastor Locke read from the prayer calendar and had pray. The purpose of UMW was repeated in unison. The card chairman reported sending several cards. They will be working in the church basement most of Tuesday getting ready for their sale the second weekend in October. Jewell Ellerman had the lesson “Seeing The Future in Our Midst.” Refreshments were served with everyone bringing something which consisted of pizza, summer sausage, cheese, crackers, chips, candy, cheese potatoes, cookies, iced tea and coffee. The Sept. 18 meeting will be at Madalyn’s Kitchen at 6 p.m. with everyone bringing refreshments. Pastor Locke will hold the lesson.

Those having dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen after church Sunday, Aug. 25, were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Jeanie O’Brien, Ruth Ijams, Frances Lewis, Gary Joe Dunn, Gayle Grinder, Eternity Dunn and Brent Baughn.

Connie Locke visited her parents, Ben and Gloria Locke, in Nevada Monday, Aug. 19.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday Aug. 25, with Brother Cliff Bennett.

Church service was held at the Schell City Untied Methodist Church Sunday, Aug. 25. Pastor Connie Locke’s sermon “Acceptable to God” was taken from Hebrews 12:18-29 and Luke 13:1-17. Sunday School was held before church. Jeanie O’Brien led the lesson “Sabbath Reforms” taken from Nehemiah 13:15-22.

Frances Lewis returned home Wednesday, Aug. 21, from the Appleton City Hospital. She’s doing better.
