ACROBATIC TACKLE – The JV Bulldogs took it to the Knob Noster Panthers with bone jarring tackles like this one. They held the Panthers to 12 points – two touchdowns with failed extra point attempts.
LONG GAINER – Sophomore Cody Long lead the JV Bulldogs Monday night against Knob Noster with a 10 yard TD run and several other long gainers even though at 125 lbs. he was the smallest player in the Bulldog lineup.
The El Dorado Springs JV Dogs played the Knob Noster Panthers at home on Monday, Sept. 9, and won 22-12.
The offense moved the ball pretty well all game long, Offense Coach David Rogers said.
Cody Long got the Dogs on the board first with a 10 yard run with Quarterback Brant Jones successful on the two-point try. In the second quarter Brant Jones connected with Logan Perriodan on a 35-yard touchdown pass. Jacob Owsely scored the two point try. Late in the third quarter Riley Boyd connected with Ethan Dubois on a 40 yard pass for a touchdown.
“This was pretty good game. We still need to put all four quarters together and cut out the simple mistakes,” Coach Rogers said.
“The defense played very well all across. We did allow some easy points but came together in the end,” Defense Coach Brian Koehler said.
Leading the dogs was Ethan Dubois with eight solo tackles followed by Logan Ellison with six and Teddie Zimmerman with five. Logan Perriodan and Cody Long each had three solo tackles. Nick Mahurin had a fumble recovery.
“We still need to improve in some areas of defense but over all it was a good game,” Coach Koehler said.
The JV Dogs improved to 2-0 and will play next Monday at home against Higginsville at 6 p.m.
