Charles Franklin Green, 93, of Pleasant Hill, was born, June 30, 1927, in Greenfield, the son of John F. and Katie E. (Culver) Green. He departed this life, Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his home surrounded with love and family.

Charlie was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War.

On March 6, 1953, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Martha Short in Pleasant Hill.

Charlie was employed at Flippo’s Gas Station in Strasburg for over 30 years. He later worked for the Riffle Feed Company in Garden City. He was an active member of the Strasburg Union Church and his community. He believed in God and showing it through hard work and with love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jackie Green and Sam Green; and four sisters, Midge Clark, Goldie Brown, Emily Lawrence, and Aleene Houston.

He is survived by his wife Myrtle of the home; two daughters, Karen Dial of Lee’s Summit, and Ona Green-Reid of Pleasant Hill; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Nichole (and Bud) Olinger El Dorado Springs; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Strasburg Union Church.

Graveside funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Staley Mound Cemetery. Reverend John Clark will officiate. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers are Clifford Eslick, Tim Hoover, Jim Manker, Bradley Sprinkle, Mark Stever, and Joe Wormington. Honorary Casket bearers are Breen Hart and Lloyd Stever.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Del Haven Children Camp and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
