Karl Walter Lehmann 76, of Nevada passed away on Thursday Aug. 6, 2020, the Kansas City  (MO) Hospice House.

Karl was born July 3, 1944, in Karlruhe, Germany, the son of Karl Glaiser and Hedwig Louise Lehmann. He was raised in the Milo area by Elmo and Hedwig Pilcher and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1962.

Karl served with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Following an Honorable Discharge, Karl returned to Vernon County where he farmed and raised livestock all his life. He also owned and operated Karl’s Garage 60 plus years. Karl held a pilot’s license to operate helicopters and airplanes, a P.I. license and a locksmith’s license. Karl raced cars in his younger years and was a man of many trades and talents.

Karl is survived by his companion, Trudy Smith, of the home; children, Robert Lehmann, Nevada, Kandi Gendron (Wayne) NC, Michael Lehmann (Karen) Nixa, and Regina Lehmann-Bennett, Seymour; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; sister, Malita Roby (Kent), Milo; brother, Leroy Pilcher, Milo; sister, Mina Dressler (Daniel, Centerville, TN; sister, Mary Spencer (Jim) Hume; sister, Carion Rumans (Scott); many nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents; by two sons, Karl Lin Lehmann and Darrell Dean Lehmann; and a sister, Gerdi Beaman.

Services began at 10:30 a.m. Tueday, Aug. 11, in Ferry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery at a later date. Military Honors will be held at the funeral home following services.
