Mt. Zion area was thankful for the rain Thursday afternoon and Saturday. Looking a little like fall the shoemack along the roadside is real pretty with shades of red still lots of flowers. Looks real nice where the landowners have mowed their right of way. You can see the deer much better now and sooner so you don’t hit them.
Happy Birthday to Roberta Dines who celebrated her birthday Friday, six more and she will make her goal. Roberta grew up in the Mt. Zion area.
Over at the Robin Siegismund Farm, Robin and Belle are sad, school has started and no school bus coming by their house, the children have all grown up. Belle and Robin always waited to wave to the children. Robin has a new rabbit pattern for the little people blankets, Belle likes it better.
Wanda Rector finished another project at her home, the kitchen. So as not to mess everything up she went to Branson for a family vacation.
Dixie Peterson is still doing good with her therapy at Truman Lake Manor.
Tom Pelkey is busy taking care of the wood fairy and mowing the yard. Beverly is feeding the cats and hummers and still cleaning, thinks she is making progress, gave several boxes away, and sent some to the dumpster.
John and Julia both shopped in Clinton and Julia has been busy this week shopping at Appleton City twice. Could not believe the price of bleach.
Scooter Harris, another neighbor’s dog from down the road ,wanted to show his master Donna how good a dog he was at sharing his toys with the other pets. Around bedtime, Scooter came in with a very nice big live opossum to show everyone. Donna said “ No Scooter take it out,” he tried but didn’t succeed fast enough. He had laid it by the fireplace so Donna grabbed the thongs and dustpan and got the opossum outside thankfully it was still sullen. The first time that ever happened and hope it is the last had the doggie door for years.
