The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 126 requests for assistance this past week, Aug.3 – 9. The requests were as follows:
Ambulance 11, Animal Control 15, Assist Other Agencies 19, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 78, Summons 5.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report
On August 18, 2020, Officers responded to 204 West Spring Street concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a United States Flag. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 18, 2020 Officers responded to 1106 South Park concerning a reported Assault. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 18, 2020 Officers responded to the Police Station concerning a report a bicycle stolen from 316 South Ohio. The investigation revealed the theft of a girls bicycle described as purple/magenta in color with a black seat that had “SS” in white letters with wings on it and black tires. The bicycle had wire spoke wheels with the inside of the wheel also purple/magenta in color. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 18, 2020 Officers arrested Carl E. Norman, 39, of El Dorado Springs charging him with Driving While Suspended, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, and No Proof of Insurance. Norman was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On August 19, 2020, Officers responded to 904 South Allison Road concerning a reported Burglary of several storage units. The investigation revealed the theft of a Colonial single blade pocket knife, Case XX Bowie knife, Imperial Barlow knife, Browning single 3 inch blade, 1987 Buck 501 knife, and Buck 110 C. Suspects have been identified and the investigation is continuing.

On August 18, 2020, Officers arrested Stephanie K. Pierce, 51, of El Dorado Springs on an active Cedar County Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear to answer to Passing Bad Checks with a $500.00 bond, and an El Dorado Springs Warrant, for Failure to Appear per Court Order with the original charge of Obstruction and Driving While Revoked and a bond of $ 963.50. Pierce posted bond on the Cedar County Warrant and was released on the El Dorado Municipal Warrant after appearing in Municipal Court.

On August 20, 2020, Officer responded to 408 South Park Street for a report of a suspicious person. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jacob J. Patalsky, 39, of El Dorado Springs on an active El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant charging him with Fail to Appear per Court Order, with the original charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Property Damage and a bond of $2333.50. Officers also applied of and received a Cedar County Warrant, charging Patalsky with Delivery of Controlled Substance except 35 Grams of Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid, a class C Felony and with a $5000.00 bond. Patalsky was transferred to Cedar County Sheriff’s Office pending bond or a court appearance.

On August 20, 2020, officers arrested Carl M. Reid, 46, of El Dorado Springs on an active El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear for an original charge of Driving while Revoked, with a bond of $475.50. Reid was released on his own recognizance, with a court date of 09/01/2020 at 1700 hours.

On August 21, 2020, Officers responded to 115 West Springs Street concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a modem, the DVR for the security cameras, and two bank bags that had approximately $200.00 in change. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 21, 2020, officers responded to 303 West Pine in reference to a larceny. This investigation continues.

On August 23, 2020, officers responded to 600 South Kirkpatrick concerning a report of a stolen moped. The investigation revealed the theft of a bright green in color moped that had a lawn mower battery installed and the original headlight had been removed to install a round headlight. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

The department received a total of 126 requests for service.

On August 24, 2020, officers arrested Harold K Williams, 46 of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Possession Drug Paraphernalia, and Trespass with a $955.00 bond, and a Cedar County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Burglary with a $2500.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and court appearances.

On August 25, 2020, officers arrested On August 25, 2020, officer arrested Matthew W. Morrow, 39, of Stockton, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging him with Child Molestation 4th Degree, with a $5000.00 bond. Morrow was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and court appearance.

On August 26, 2020, officers responded to 500 South Park in reference to tampering with a utility. The investigation revealed the theft of water services from the property owner. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 26, 2020, officers responded to 111 Winner Road concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a dry erase board with markers, men’s ties and a wireless printer. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 26, 2020, officers responded to the 104 Winner Road concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a wooden flag. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 28, 2020, officers responded to 228 West Spring concerning a report of assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Timothy Tabor, 55, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Third Degree Assault and Dog at Large. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On August 28, 2020, officers responded to 711 South Grand concerning a reported trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jarrett R Major, 31, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of trespassing. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On August 28, 2020, officers arrested Christopher H. Applebee, 23, of El Dorado Springs, for Vernon County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear with the original charge of Stealing a Motor Vehicle, and Stealing all other with no bond, Yates County Kansas Warrant, charging him with Interfering with a Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting Arrest with no bond, and El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear per Court Order on the original charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a $281.00 bond. He was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending bond and court appearances.

On August 29, 2020, officers responded to 503 East Gentry concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a refrigerator and range with oven. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 29, 2020, officers responded to 1501 South First Street concerning a report of suspicious persons. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Bret A. Leaver, 50, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of No Plates, with a $228.50 bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On August 30, 2020 officers responded to 206 West Marshall concerning a reported Domestic Assault. A suspect has been identified, a report was taken, and the investigation continues.
