NEVC JR pie supper Oct. 11

Attending a Cousins’ Luncheon Friday in Nevada were Ronnie Zaring and son, Devin, Houston, TX, and Ronnie’s daughter of Las Vegas, NV, Roberta Wagner, Bill and Jolynn Sloan, Marv and Johnny Troyer, Don Hutchison and Bob and Jane Hutchison.

Norman and Betty Radde went to Senior Citizens at Liberal Friday. Saturday, they attended a birthday dinner at Shane and Traci Longstreth’s. Sunday, they went to the Riverview Community reunion near Collins with friends.

Community revival services are being held Oct. 7-11 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Schell City with a speaker from a local church each evening.

Charles and I and Chet Foreman attended the program for grandparents at the Nevada High School Thursday evening with Brice Budd.

Chet and Marla Foreman and Charles and I attended flag football games at Pleasanton, KS, Sunday afternoon and watched grandsons, Coltin Wilson, and Garrett Conley play.

Christine and Corey Graham brought chicken from the 4-H Barbecue Saturday evening and ate with Charles and me. There have been many years we ate from the chicken barbecue while harvesting corn.

Several of the farmers in the area have begun harvesting corn, but it is still wet and requires drying facilities.

Sympathy is expressed to the family of Greg Hardy whose funeral was Sunday. He spent quite a bit of time with his grandmother, Elnora Wallace, and attended school here.

Charles and I and Christine and Corey Graham, and Katie and Brice Budd attended volleyball games at Cottey and enjoyed watching Regan Kannady play.

Saturday afternoon, Dale and Pat Manny of Springfield visited Bob and Jane Hutchison. Pat is Bob’s niece.

Sunday afternoon, Bobby and Karen Hutchison of Walnut Grove and Karen’s son, Dusty, and four children visited Bob and Jane Hutchison.

Mark Hauf had lunch with Charles and me Tuesday. He’s been helping Charles work on his old car.

NEVC Basketball Jr. High Girls/Boys: At gym in Walker, Oct. 10 at 5:30 against Calhoun, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. against Hume. Away games are Oct. 14 at Lakeland 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at Hume 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at Bronaugh at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at Ballard ata 6 p.m. Oct. 29 at Sheldon at 5 p.m. Nov. 4-8 Conference tournament at Ballad and Nov. 11-15 tournament at Hume.

NEVC 7th and 8th grade basketball teams shared an exciting game in Montrose Monday evening. The NEVC girls lost by a few points and the NEVC boys won by a few.

Christine Graham and Charles and I, along with a lot of other NEVC 7th and 8th grade parents and grandparents attended the 7th and 8th grade basketball game at Montrose Monday evening.

NEVC Volleyball-Varsity/Jr Varsity: Home games-Oct. 22 Appleton City at 5 p.m. Away games; October 14 at Lakeland at 4:30, Hume at 5 p.m., Oct. 21 at Bronaugh, Oct. 5 and 25 at Ballard at 5.

The NEVC JR pie supper is Oct. 11, and they start serving at 5:30 p.m. It will be Duck Dynasty theme. Fish and chicken will be served as the meat at the meal along with potato salad and cole slaw. The date is Friday. The pie selling starts at 7 p.m. There are games that evening.
