In the week of Oct 3, the morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church was by Pastor David Souza was titled “Are you open to Jesus’s message?”

Mt. Zion Home Bible study was canceled due to illness in the Pelkey family this week. We will meet next Tuesday Oct 8, at 7 p.m. in Joela Danes home. We invite you to join us. Call Tom 660-598-0477.

We had much needed rain Saturday in the Mt. Zion area. The corn harvest had begun. Sure the rain dampened the people at the Blue grass Festival in Appleton City and the Mongraw Springs Reunion but they all had a good time.

June Marshell attended faith Sunday dinner at Kidd’s Chapel Church. Bill Marshell visited Sunday afternoon fixing June’s computer. Harold and Claudine Battiner attended church with June.

Visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home have been Kent, Mitchel, Jodi, Tucker Crawford and Stacy Griffith. Dixie enjoyed lunch with some classmates Friday in Clinton.

Monday, Sept 16, Tommie Gragg and Mary Louise Johannigmeier attended the luncheon at the Lutheran Church for the family of Colleen Gench Parker. On Sept 21, they attended a luncheon for IIa Steiner Dark family at the Rockville Methodist Fellowship Hall.

VFW Post 11242 and Ladies Auxiliary ladies will be giving away a Valor Quilt at the turkey dinner in November. If you have a veteran you would like to enter, call Marge at 660-598-04042.

The Rockville Methodist Church ladies are busy planning for their Quilt Show Oct 19. Looking forward to seeing you there. The Country Store is laying in a supply of baked goods, homemade jams and jellies, dish clothes, dish towels, table runners, clothes pin bags, lots of good stuff. Plus all the quilts to admire and the bed turning and lunch. The Methodists like their food.

Mt. Zion news has been lost in space for it didn’t make it to the newspaper office, here’s hoping it will this week.

Week of Oct. 6, morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church was by Pastor David Souza titled, “WOW! This Is New Jesus!”

Fall has come to the Mt. Zion area with some nice rain and much cooler weather.

Tom and Beverly Pelkey returned to Missouri after making a trip to Sacramento, CA, and on to Culp Creek, OR. to visit Beverly’s ill brother. He passed away Friday Sept. 27, 2013. She visited her other brother and family and her son came up from San Francisco, CA. Much had changed since Beverly’s last visit. We extend our sympathy in the passing of her brother.

We are glad Mr. Curt Motley is home after spending a few days in Kansas City hospital. He left home in the life flight helicopter.

June Marshell had breakfast with family recently. She was shopping and visiting.

Recent visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home have been Mark Crawford, Mike Nelligan, Kent Crawford and Beth. Howard and Dixie visited deer Camp Saturday night.

Looking forward to seeing you Oct 19 at Rockville Methodist Church Quilt Show.

Visitors in the John and Julia Snethen home were Shella Akers and grand dogs and friend Shawn. Julia is still mending after her recent surgery.
