Happy 95th birthday Elnora Wallace

Elnora Wallace was honored on her 95th birthday Sunday with a dinner at the Walker Community Building. Her birthday cake was made in the shape of a spool of thread with a needle and baked by her granddaughter, Jessica Hardy. Annette Balk – Scottsdale, AZ, Barbara and Karl Householder – Nevada, Toyka Jo Faxton – Sedalia, Genevieve Hardenbrook – Kansas City, Sandy Bush – Lansing, KS, Joan and J. D. Redburn – El Dorado Springs, Allen and Darla Arlint – Walker, Harry and Linda Hardy – Kansas City, KS, Lana Popejoy – Lake Ozark, Karen and Steve DeFries, Edwardsville – KS, Jack and Sharon Wallace, Dawn White, Dale Lipe, Travis and Joannie Riggs, Brian and Connie Wallace, Sammuel Cawthorne, Brian Lowell Wallace, Dannielle McWilliams, Suzanne and Greg Prough and Baelynn – Nevada and Jessica Hardy – Jerico Springs.

Glen and Alberta Hays returned Thursday after spending from Saturday to Thursday in Columbia for the Missouri Order of the Eastern Star 2013 Grand Chapter. They had a very good time and there was lots of fellowship with fellow members.

Thursday evening, Gilbert and Eleanor Willson went to Adrain where they attended a volleyball game and watched their granddaughter, Kelsey Willson play. Breanne and Claire Willson spent Saturday with Gilbert and Eleanor. On Sunday, they attended the music show in Ft. Scott with Barbara and Robert Cubbage.

A large crowd attended the open house at Cubbage Market Saturday.

Visiting Bob and Jane Hutchison Tuesday afternoon were Roberta Wagner and Marvelene and Johnnie Troyer. Jane attended the Red Hats Wednesday. They went out to Buzz’s Restaurant for lunch. Debbie and Denny Wallace of Nevada visited Bob and Jane on Sunday afternoon.

Kathy Newman and Kayla Loyd, Ethan and Jared visited Brad, Sarah, Lydia, and Chloe Newman in Amarillo this week-end.

Saturday, Jerry and Jenise Burch attended the breakfast at El Dorado Springs at the Wayside Hotel Museum and the Craft Fair at the Community Building. Then they attended Kate’s volleyball games at the YMCA in Nevada. Later Jerry and Jenise and Jered and Cole Burch went to the Fair Haven Chili/Soup Supper at the park. Kate had her Volleyball Team home with her for an overnight and they and Crystal ate at their home on Saturday. Sunday was church and then lunch at Jerry and Jenise’s home for Jered and Crystal Burch, Kate and Cole and Hadley Bruce.

I visited Fred Haynes in Nevada Tuesday. Eddie and Sandy Haynes and Virginia Ann visited him, also.

Alberta Hays went back to Columbia Saturday. Wanda Reno of Lamar, Deanna Shouse of El Dorado Springs and Jamie Shouse of Joplin went with her for another meeting at the Masonic Complex in Columbia.

Visiting Bob and Laura Clinton this week were Jaycee and Tracy Washburn, Jodee Fanning, Bob Lee Clinton, and Nicholas Chadd. Bob and Laura took a drive Sunday afternoon after eating lunch in Nevada.

Bob and Lavina Clinton went to her sister’s, Laverna Rice, in Sheldon and picked up pecans.

Glen and Alberta Hays, Payton Hays, and Andy and Tammy Hays went out to eat in Nevada in honor of Alberta’s birthday.

Bob and Linda Majors, Chad and Jenny Majors, Alexia and Maleia and Brad and LouAnn Majors and Mason all watched Madyson Majors be baptized Sunday morning at the First Baptist Church in Nevada. Afterwards, they all went to the home of Brad and LouAnn, Madyson and Mason and had lunch together. Family group pictures were taken. The guys watched the Chief’s game on television and the women enjoyed sitting on the patio and enjoying the beautiful autumn weather.

Charles and I enjoyed a wiener roast and all the trimmings at the home of Jerry and Lin Heath near Harwood Saturday evening—along with about 60 other people.

NEVC Basketball Jr. High Girls/Boys: At gym in Walker Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. against Hume. Away games are Oct. 25 at Ballard at 6 p.m. 29 at Sheldon at 5 p.m. Nov. 4-8 Conference tournament at Ballad and 11-15 tournament at Hume.

The NEVC Jr. High girls lost to Hume Tuesday evening, but the boys won by four points in a double overtime.
