A head-on crash about 7:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, sent three people to hospitals with injuries listed a serious.
The report by Trooper Doug Scotten, said that Davis S. Worthington, 19, El Dorado Springs, was westbound on Hwy. U southeast of El Dorado Springs (at about Cedar County Road 701 according to area residents) when the 1998 Ford Ranger he was driving went off the right side of the roadway, returned to the road, over-corrected, then crossed the centerline and struck head-on an eastbound 2004 Pontiac Montana driven by Christi M. Lasley-Sutton, 45, El Dorado Springs.
William J. Sutton, 49, El Dorado Springs, a passenger in the Pontiac, was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital – Springfield with injuries reported as serious. The accident report said that he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Davis S. Worthington, who was reportedly wearing a seatbelt, was transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar with injuries reported as serious.
Christi M. Lasley-Sutton, listed as unknown whether she was wearing a seatbelt, was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with injuries listed as serious.
Emily M. Sutton, 12, a second passenger in the Pontiac, who was listed as wearing a seatbelt, was reported as uninjured. She was released to her aunt at the scene.
