The afternoon rains stopped just an hour before the El Dorado Springs City Park became a Halloween Treat Factory, Thursday, Oct. 31. Six businesses, all with experience in the madhouse that is called the SCRG Spooktacular, treated approximately 350 costumed children, most accompanied by parents, some in their own spooky attire. And, as it has been in the past, everyone was out of candy by about 7 p.m.

Costume contest winners received cash prizes: $10 for first place, $5 for second place and $2 for third.

Participating businesses were: CenturyLink, Evans Drug, State Farm Insurance, El Dorado Springs Sun, Wilkinson Pharmacy and Sonic Drive-In.
