Greetings, My Fellow Missourians

I am out on the road again driving a great big circle through the district. My first stop was Lakeland High School to drop of Resolutions to the 2020 American FFA Degree recipients. Congratulations to theses hard working students from Lakeland!

Due to the Covid-19 virus, I was not able to present them to the students as I have in past years; but left them with the school for their FFA instructor to present.

My next stop was in Appleton City to deliver a Resolution to the city in honor of their One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary. Due to Covid-19, there were no public activities held this year but the sesquicentennial celebration will be held in June 2021. I hope that I will be able to present the Resolution to the city during the festivities this summer.

Appleton City was officially established in 1870 and was named in honor of W. H. Appleton of Appleton Publishing company in New York City. Mr. Appleton provided the State of Missouri’s third public library. The city was awarded membership in the Union Pacific Train Town USA registry and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places as its Downtown Commercial District served as the commercial center of St. Clair County when the railroad arrived in 1870.

The next stop was in El Dorado Springs to deliver all of the Discover More on 54 materials and literature to El Dorado Springs Chamber Director Jackson Tough. In the future, Jackson will be taking over as the administrator of the website and the Discover More On 54 project.

I posted another Discover More on Route 54 sign at the junction of 54 & 39 Highway just East of El Dorado Springs compliments of Jerl Leonard.

For my last stop, I caught up with Teresa Smith at Martin Prairie Farms during the noon hour where she works taking care of the dairy calves. It was my pleasure to present her a Resolution recognizing all the volunteer work she helped me with during my 8 years as State Representative. Teresa offered to design and set up my website and she ran the website, keeping all of my Legislative activity up to date.

Teresa is an outstanding citizen and served her country as Military Police Specialist. She has served the community by volunteering in numerous capacities, just few include, helping at Galmey Community Bible Church in Wheatland, cleaning roadsides and organizing trail races for the community. She stepped forward, volunteered her excellent computer skills by designing the Discover More on Route 54 website, and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the project. www.discover54.com.

I want to wish all of District 125 a safe and joyful Christmas Season. May you be filled with peace as we remember the Saviors birth this Christmas. I hope you take time to enjoy family and reflect on all we have to be thankful for. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas
