Oliver Israel Kenney, 93, of El Dorado Springs, passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, 2021, at the Community Springs Healthcare Facility. He was born in Cedar County on Aug. 14, 1927, to Florence Kenney.

During his lifetime, Oliver worked at a variety of occupations, including ranching, truck driving, and construction throughout the United States. In 1967, Oliver moved his family back to his home state of Missouri, and he worked and lived in the El Dorado Springs area until his death.

Oliver was married to Anna Saathoff of Worthington, MN, on Feb. 14, 1949. They raised five children: David, James, Paul, Walter and Annette. They were married for 57 years until the death of Anna in 2006.

Oliver was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna; sons: David, Paul, and Walter; two brothers, Sam Kenney and Cletus Watts. He is survived by a son, James Kenney (Phyllis) of Springfield; and a daughter, Annette Tankersley (Rawn) of Branson; sister, Novella Goodwin of Nevada; granddaughters: Heather, Nigel, Bathsheba, Tanya, and Jessica; grandsons: Walter, Matthew, Daniel, David, Dean, and Taylor; and several great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Oliver was a good man who worked hard to take care of his family and friends. He will be missed; may he rest in peace.

Services for Oliver Kenney will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and run through service time. Interment will follow at Love Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Rawn Tankersly, Taylor Tankersly, Andy Graves, Wyatt Graves, and Trey Graves.
