Next UMW meeting to b e Dec. 18

Jewell and Helen Ellerman and Connie Locke worked in the basement at the Schell City United Methodist Church and then they ate at Madalyn’s Kitchen and then they went to El Dorado Springs where Helen went to the doctor Tuesday, Nov. 19.

The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women met Wednesday evening, Nov. 20 at Madalyn’s Kitchen for their regular monthly meeting. Those present were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Frances Lewis, Jeanie O’Brien, Ruth Ijams, Madalyn Crocker, Sharon Sterling and Jennie Ireland. Helen Ellerman, president, conducted the business meeting. She gave the devotion taken from Isaiah 66:14-24. Pastor Locke read from the prayer calendar and had prayer. The purpose of UMW was repeated in unison. The card chairman reported sending several cards. For the program, Jeanie O’Brien read a children’s book from the reading program. Jeanie Ireland, a district officer, gave a short talk about what is going on in the district. Refreshments were served which consisted of pizza, summer sausage, cheese, crackers, pie, chips, iced tea and coffee. Their next monthly meeting will be Dec. 18 at Madalyn’s Kitchen with everyone bringing refreshments. Helen Ellerman will have the program.

Connie Locke took Frances Lewis, Jewell and Helen Ellerman to Madalyn’s Kitchen for Madalyn’s Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, Nov. 21.

Those having dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen after church Sunday, Nov. 24 were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Jeanie O’Brien, Ruth Ijams, Frances Lewis, Gary Joe and Gayle Dunn, Eternity Dunn and Brent Baughn.

Connie Locke took Jewell and Helen to the Ecumenical service and meal at the Schell City Christian Church Sunday evening, Nov. 4.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 24. Jon Bauble’s sermon was on Thanksgiving.
