State Rep. Steve Webb, D-St. Louis County, resigned from his seat on Dec. 2 as a result of a felony charge related to campaign contributions.
Webb is accused of soliciting a donation for the legislature’s black caucus, which he formerly chaired, and converting the funds for personal use. He is also charged with misdemeanors related to misusing campaign contributions.
Webb was first elected to the House in 2008 and was the Minority Caucus Chairman before his resignation.
House Minority Leader Jake Hummel, D-St. Louis County, had called on Webb to leave the chamber after the charges were announced last month.
