Route 54 Cruisers Car Club plans Spring Car Show in El Dorado Springs on Saturday, May 8. Once again, it is spring and with spring comes our yearly car show. We are looking forward to welcoming a record number of cars this year from all over the state of Missouri. Plan now to bring your car or just come to enjoy the cars of others.

What makes a great day besides beautiful cars? Food – The Masonic Lodge will serve hamburgers and the El Dorado Springs Band Boosters will serve pulled pork sandwiches. We hope to have bakes goods provided by one of our local 4-H groups. Please come and support one of these worthwhile groups and enjoy your lunch in our beautiful park in Downtown El Dorado Springs.

We will have our usual auction before awards are presented. Once again, we have a quilt pieced by Rhonda Boch and quilted by Carolyn Keith. It is commemorating the 200th birthday of the state of Missouri and features t-shirts from the state of Missouri. Mark Boch is working on some car related projects for the auction as well. Be sure to enter the 50/50 pot for a chance to win cash.

Registration is from 8 to 11 a.m. with awards to be presented at 2 p.m. Pre-registration is $15 and day of show registration is $20. For questions or to received a pre-registration form, call Dennis Radford at 660/492-0432 or Mark Boch at 417/876-1164. There will be 16 classes with first, second and third place trophies in each class. There will be a Best of Show trophy and a $100 cash award.

This is the 28th year the Route 54 Cruisers have sponsored a car show and they have given back to the community through scholarships and donations an amount in excess of $66,000. We will hope for a beautiful day to enjoy fun, food and fellowship.

Who we are and what we do

For 28 years, we have met together monthly for dinner and to visit about our cars and car club business.

The 54 Cruisers currently have 52 members.

On the 2nd weekend of May, the 8th 2021, we will host our 28th show.

Our members go as a group to parades, cruise-ins and shows in other towns, nursing home visiting and delivering Christmas Baskets. We visit local businesses with our old cars as a tool to bring people in to shop or eat or just look over our cars.

We raise money from dues, show sponsorship and show participants, sales from t-shirts and other items.

We donate to various charities and promote El Dorado Springs and surrounding communities. We give financial help during personal disasters, fires and family emergencies, as well as yearly scholarships. Following is a few of the organizations we have helped and the amount we have contributed:

*Scholarships – $25,395

*Christmas Baskets/Toy Drive – (El Dorado Springs, Nevada, Stockton) $20,581

*Firs/Disasters, family emergencies – $15,930

*Civic Groups – $4,300

Total – $66,206 as of Sept. 30, 2020
