Rockville United Methodist Church was by Pastor David Souza entitled “The Journey of Faith” from Genesis 2: 1 and Hebrew 11: 8.

Pastor David Souza is moving to Texas and our new pastor will be Kasey Beaton from Appleton City. Her first sermon will be April 13 at 9 a.m. We invite all to come and welcome her.

Mt. Zion Bible study was held in the home of Tom and Beverly Pelkey at 7 p.m. where nine were present to study the Bible and fellowship. You are invited to join us.

June Marshell is back to normal, she attended the wedding of grandson, Will Marshell, in Kansas City. She celebrated another birthday, rested a day, had company, attended birthday party Sunday for an 80 year old friend and went to retired teachers meeting. We are glad June is out and about again.

Sunday afternoon visitors in the Marge and Stanley Zink home were Dixie and Brenda Peterson.

Recent visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home were Brenda Peterson from Richmond. Dixie has been able to be out some this past week. She went to Bunco at the library and the Lowry City citywide garage sale.

We had some much needed rain in the Mt. Zion area and a couple of cold days. Am hoping old man winter decided to go to the North Pole or wherever he goes and stay. I’m ready for spring. Some have found red mushrooms.

Mt. Zion Club will meet April 16 in the Beverly Pelkey home for a all day meeting. We are looking forward to our special program; tacking lap robes and seed bingo are planned.

The Rockville Methodist Church Quilters have been working hard and have gotten caught up; we are in need of your quilt top to hand quilt. For more information, call Margie Siegismund at 660-598-2113 or Tommie Gregg at 660-598-2765.

The Osage River had more water than it has had all winter, saw some people snagging. The snaggers told me it wasn’t any different than throwing a bare hook in the water; than cutting big pieces of material up and sewing it back together! They have a point!

Several from the area attended the VFW Post 11242 and Ladies Auxiliary meeting Thursday evening.

Julia Snethen and Carrie Brooks went to Warsaw and then on to Nevada Monday while John paid a visit to the doctors. John has been down for a week and hoping to get back to the bus by Wednesday.
