In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 91 requests for assistance this past week, Jan.31-Feb. 6. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 15, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 19, All Escorts 2, Nuisance 8, All Other Requests for Assistance 38, Summons 1.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On February 1, 2022, officers responded to 204 East Oak concerning the theft of a firearm. The investigation revealed the theft of a Girsan 9MM pistol. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On February 4, 2022, officers responded to 700 South Park, apartment 6, concerning a peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Krysta L. McAllister, 30, of Kansas City, for a Clay County Warrant charging her with Resisting Arrest with a $75,000.00 bond and a Ray County Warrant charging her with Speeding, with a $165.00 bond. She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and court appearances.

On February 5, 2022, officers responded to 100 East U.S. 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a customer’s lottery tickets. A report taken and the investigation continues.
