Lee Edward Ewert, 64, El Dorado Springs, passed from this life at 6:25 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at his home.  He was born Jan. 22, 1958, in Tacoma WA, the son Warren and Jean Ewert. He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School with honors in El Dorado Springs and received certification in agriculture at Crowder College. After graduating high school, he worked on the family farm raising hogs and cattle. He hauled hay for neighbors and friends. In 1978, he began working for United Construction as a surveyor building boat ramps and the access dam for Truman Lake. In 1985, he began working at Witt Printing and worked there for many years. In 2002, Lee was injured in a severe farm accident and never fully recovered from his injuries.  He went on to work for Cooper Pawn Shop where he remained employed up until a few weeks prior to his passing.

Lee was a devoted brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who enjoyed spending time with members of his family, friends and his beloved dogs, Oscar, Marvin and Junior.  He enjoyed working on the family farm with his parents and his brother, Roy.  Lee was known as one of the best agriculturist who started his own furrow- to-finish swine production as well as his own cow calf operation.  He was a board member for Cedar County Fair and assisted with numerous agriculture actives.

Survivors include his brother, Roy Ewert, and wife, Lisa – El Dorado Springs; one nephew, Kris Ewert, and wife, Abigail – El Dorado Springs; great-nephew, KanDyn Ewert; great-niece, Zarah Ewert, and great-nephew Julian Ewert all of El Dorado Springs; other relatives and many friends. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Jack and Josephine Lollar, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Ewert.

The memorial service for Lee Edward Ewert was Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, with Rev. Brent Bland officiating.  Private interment will follow for the family.
