Joseph B. Dunfield, 79, was born June 27, 1942, to Bill and Opal Dunfield in Nevada. He went to his heavenly home on Feb. 17, 2022. On Aug. 11, 1966, he married Lola Murphy. Joe and Lola lived in Virgil City and raised their son, Terry, and daughter, Christina. Joe enjoyed being with his family. Joe worked several years on construction and several years driving a truck for Waste Corp. in El Dorado Springs. Joe was saved on Oct. 18, 1971, and was baptized on Nov. 7, 1971. He joined Liberty Baptist Church where he served as superintendent and song leader for several years.

Joe is survived by his wife, Lola; daughter, Tammy Aumann; son, Terry (Wanda) Dunfield; daughter, Christina Allen and daughter, Nellie (Aaron) Griffitt; three brothers, Bob Dunfield, James Dunfield and Lloyd (Sandy) Dunfield; two sisters, Joann Wyrick and Linda Ayers; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ann Dunfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Opal Dunfield; brothers, Junior, Jurden, Earnest and George; sisters, Mary and Sue.

Services for Joe Dunfield will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Virgil City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. the day of the service.
