Sherri Ann Barker, 62, El Dorado Springs, went to be with the Lord and left loved ones on Jan. 9, 2022, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN.

Sherri was born Aug. 1, 1959, to the late Wayne and Barbara Barker. She grew up in El Dorado Springs and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. She waited tables in some of the local restaurants over the years, including Casey’s, Annie’s, Powder Horn and El Dorado Inn. She got to know all of her customers and regular coffee drinkers. She teased all of them to brighten their days. She even adopted a few nicknames such as “Shorty” and “Cackleberries.” Sherri had a baby brother growing up, Ronnie Barker, who she loved dearly. She had two children, Brandon Barker and Lacy Greenstreet. She later gained four grandchildren. She went to work doing home health after waitressing. She enjoyed her clients. She always had a smile and never met a stranger. She always had a big heart for anyone that needed anything.

She retired in August of 2021. She loved traveling with her best friend, Jo Ann Atkinson,  and doing a few things on her bucket list, such as seeing George Strait and traveling to Hot Springs and Branson. She also made trips, to her surprise, to Gatlinburg and Memphis. She treasured her precious companion, Willy Nelson, who she spoiled so much.

Preceding Sherri in death were her grandparents; mother, Barbara Barker; and her father Wayne Barker.

Her surviving family includes: brother and family, Ronnie Barker, Yolanda, Emily and husband, Kurtis, Savannah and Dustin; son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Brandon Barker, Kim and Raenna; daughter and son-in-law, Lacy and Skyler Greenstreet and children: Adley, Tucker, and Charlee; step-mom, Anna Lee Barker; step-brother, Eddie Moore; step-daughter, Michelle Stockstill; Aunt Coeta Smith; Aunt Betty Jadlow; and cousins.

She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

A memorial service for Sherri Barker will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Allred officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
