Robert Clifton Conner, 92, was born on Sept. 5, 1929. He was the youngest of four children born to Burr and Grace Conner of Jackson County. His siblings were Aleine, Gene and James Conner.

Cliff passed away peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 6, 2022, in Conway, AR. He was greatly loved by family and all friends that knew him. He will be remembered as a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.

The family relocated to El Dorado Springs shortly after his birth and would remain life-long residents of the city. He would become known as Cliff Conner, a name he retained for life. He would meet his life-long spouse, Dixie Lee Burnett and they would wed on Feb. 2, 1947. They would enjoy 70 years of marriage until Dixie’s passing in 2017.

Their marriage would produce one child, Larry Lee Conner.

Cliff was employed at various businesses in the town, his last position being a mail carrier for the U S Postal service.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of El Dorado Springs.

Cliff is survived by his son, Larry Conner; two granddaughters, Cheryl Nall and Kimberly Burbank, and four great-grandsons, Conner and Hunter Nall and Hayden and Garrison Burbank, all residents of Conway, AR.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5th, at Shelton funeral home in El Dorado Springs. All friends of the family are encouraged to attend.
