In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 88 requests for assistance this past week, Feb. 14-20. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 11, Animal Control 9, Assist Other Agencies 14, All Escorts 4, Nuisance 7, All Other Requests for Assistance 43, Summons 17.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On February 14, 2022, officers arrested Vincent R. Mansell, 41, of El Dorado Springs for Vernon County Warrants charging him with Probation Violation with the original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Failure to Appear with the original charge of Traffic Offenses with no bond. He was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending a court appearance.

On February 14, 2022, officers arrested Nash R Montanez, 61, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked and Failure to Stop for a Posted Stop Sign. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On February 14, 2022 officers responded to 312 West US 54 Highway, Woods Supermarket, concerning a shoplifting. The investigation revealed the theft of a 4 pack of wine coolers. A report has been taken and the investigation continues.

On February 15, 2022, officers assisting a Cedar County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Shane O Wright, 44, of El Dorado Springs, for a Nevada Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Register a Vehicle with an $84.00 bond. He was released on recognizance pending a court appearance.

On February 16, 2022, officers responded to the 400 block of South Grand concerning an assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Rhett A. Lunsford, 26, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Assault, Peace Disturbance and Throwing Missiles and Objects. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On February 18, 2022, officers arrested Cory D. Martin, 46, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released with summons pending a court appearance.

On February 19, 2022, officers responded to 200 McCrary Circle concerning a Domestic Assault.  A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On February 19, 2022, officers responded to Family Dollar concerning Trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Shawnda R. Pulley, 39, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Trespassing. She was released with summons pending a court appearance.

On February 20, 2022, officers responded to the 700 block of North Main concerning a vehicle in a ditch. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Abegail S. Cheek, 20, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Intoxicated, Failure to Keep Right and No Operator’s License. She was released on summonses pending a court appearance.
