El Dorado Christian High School students enjoyed a rewarding and educational fieldtrip to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR, earlier this month. The trip was under the direction of ECS Art teacher, Mrs. Susan Dingman. Those attending were high school teachers, Tim Scott, Mrs. Patty King and her husband Kevin. Freshmen students: Redeemer Heath, Rachel Jones, Ammeray Miller and her grandmother, Norma Fischer and Cambria Witt. Sophomores: Paige Dobbs, Ally Hendricks, Chaney Housh, Jessica Meyers and Ben Middleton. Juniors: Tanner Daniel, Dayton Robison, Daniel King and Kayla Roll. Seniors: Kristen Castor, Lindsay Daniel, Emily Jones, Staci Keith, Sarah McKinney, Christanne Middleton and Olivia Witt. Some of the favorite art pieces of the students were a large sculpture of a silver tree that was at the entrance of the museum title, “Yield” by artist Roxy Paine. There was Andy Warhol’s, “Dolly Parton” and “Coca-Cola (3)”, Norman Rockwell’s, “Rosie the Riveter” and Evan Penny’s, “Old Self: Portrait of the Artist as He will (not) be” sculpture. The art students were amazed at a sculpture of an old man sitting on a bench, looking so life-like with all the detail put into it. The Art spans into the museum’s architecture and grounds as well as displayed in its galleries. Everyone enjoyed a treat from the beautiful Eleven restaurant located inside the museum. Students along with teachers and guests had a wonderful time.
