On Wednesday, June 4, officers responded to McDonald’s at 410 East Hwy. 54, concerning a domestic disturbance.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of William C. Witt, 40, Stockton, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault. The continued investigation resulted in officers applying for and receiving a Cedar County Warrant, charging Witt with First Degree Burglary, three counts of Second Degree Domestic Assault, First Degree Rape, Harassment, four counts of Kidnapping, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, First Degree Tampering With a Motor Vehicle, and Second Degree Attempted Robbery, with a cash only bond of $100,000.
He was transported to Vernon County Sheriff’s Office pending bond or court appearance.
El Dorado Springs Police Chief Jarrod Schiereck said that his department is working with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s office as some of the incidents took place in that county.
