TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Hill Church, (formerly Bethel Free Will Church) 1300 S. Summer St, El Dorado Springs on Thursday, Aug. 11, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.
Laura Hicks, Leader, called the meeting to order.
Pam led us in singing “TOPS Success:
We said our TOPS & KOPS Pledges.
Laura led us roll call; Nineteen members weighed in and we had a loss of 10 lbs. and a gain of 6 lbs. resulting in a net Loss of 4 lbs. Best loser for the week was Pam with a loss of 2.6 lbs. Congratulations Pam.
Linda Hall discussed the upcoming Baked Potato Luncheon to be held on Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Community Center Banquet Room.
Marilyn reported the State Contest is over, she is preparing the results to be sent to our Western Missouri Coordinator Randy.
Linda H. caught up on some awards, Constance received a back in black with perfect attendance certificate, her 5 lb. loss certificate and the Best Loser for the Month of July certificate and cash prize of $9.70, she lost 7.4 lbs. in July.
Warren reported on the proposed new contest. He said it will be “The Luck of The Draw.”
“Do & Draw” you get to draw a card if you do the following each week.
1. Lose weight or stay the same (if KOPS must stay in leeway)
2. Attend the meeting
3. Exercise
4. Keep a food chart
You draw a card for each thing done, points are determined by the card.
This contest would run for four months but be broken down month by month in pay out. Each member that plays will pay $2 to join each month. There will be 1st place winner and 2nd place winner each month. The contest will start 1st week in September. Warren made a motion to accept this contest and Sharron 2nd motion. Warren will have details for us later.
Laura asked for ideas from chapter members. She had two suggestions. TOPS members who are losing weight earn pins. Many chapters have vests, jackets or other various ways of displaying pins and charms earned. Laura suggested a “scarf” with the pins on it. She asked for other ideas from members.
She also suggested compiling a “Healthy Cook-Book” to be sold.
She would like our chapter to host a “TOPS Walk” sometime this year, probably in the Spring. We would invite other chapters to participate in this. Maybe around the time of the anniversary of the chapter.
Laura asked members to think of things we can do to promote our chapter.
With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto
IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.
