Jean was united in marriage on Jan. 28, 1950, to Clifton Lee Dawson. From this union three sons were born – Steven, Michael and Jeffrey. Jean was preceded in death by her mother and father, her beloved sister, Bessie and her oldest son, Steven.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clifton Lee Dawson. She is also survived by her son, Michael, and wife, Debby; son, Jeffrey, and wife, Elizabeth; and her grandchildren – Steven, Jacob, Andrew, Kathleen, Cody and Aron.

As a lifelong member of the Oyer community, Jean was very active. She was a 50-year member of the Jolly Farmers Women’s Club. She served for years as a St. Clair County election official, actively supporting her political beliefs. She was a volunteer member of the St. Clair County Health Department Hospice Program. Jean participated faithfully in all the activities of her children and grandchildren at Roscoe School.

Jean worked alongside her husband, Cliff, on their family farm in the Oyer area. Jean was an avid gardener and quilter. Her hand stitched quilts were works of art. Suppers at Jean’s house always included a homemade pie.

In later years, Jean provided many hours of mentoring to her grandchildren, teaching them the fine art of mastering video games. She also had a passion for completing puzzles, word games and cross word puzzles (in ink).

She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
