LAWMAKERS CRAFT MISSOURI’S FISCAL YEAR 2023 BUDGET

On May 6, the Missouri General Assembly completed its constitutional obligation of sending a balanced budget to the governor. Once again, the Legislature was able to pass a balanced blueprint for Missouri’s next fiscal year, which started on July 1. This includes fully funding the K-12 education foundation formula and adding more money for school transportation costs. In addition, the budget provides funding increases to maintain our state’s low-volume roads and for the expansion of broadband internet.
