Nellie Raylene (Campbell) Keith, (known as Raylene by everyone), 75, El Dorado Springs, passed away at Cedar County Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022. Raylene was born July 7, 1947, to Nellie (Raines) Campbell and Ray Campbell. Raylene attended a little country school between Stockton and Fair Play known as Bear Creek. She worked at both the shirt factory and the shoe factory until it closed. At that time, she became a stay-at-home mom and helped with watching her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and when she wasn’t watching them, she would watch the birds for hours on end.
On Sept. 14, 1964, Raylene married Calvin Keith, to this union were born one son, Calvin Laverne Keith, and three daughters, Dixie Stoner, Tammy Page and Jo Ann Keith.
Raylene was preceded in death by her father, Ray Campbell, and a sister, Barbara Carson.
Raylene is survived by her children, Calvin, Dixie and Jo Ann – El Dorado Springs, and Tammy – Cherryvale, KS; mother, Nellie (Campbell) Hamby; sisters, Elaine Pyle – El Dorado Springs, Kathaleen Cox – Adrian, Hazelene Clayton – Apalachicola, FL, Dorothy Alumbaugh – Waco, TX; half-sister, Donna Crow – Ellinwood, KS; and half-brother, Terry Hamby – Waco, TX. She had nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
Services for Raylene were Monday, Sept. 12, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
