In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 68 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 12-18. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 5, Animal Control 13, Assist Other Agencies 7, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 43, Summons 2.

Animal Control

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact the animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On December 12, 2022, officer arrested William A. Hunt, 50, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging him with a Moving Traffic Violation with a $500.00 cash bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On December 14, 2022, officers arrested Lisa Storey-Ransom, 54, of El Dorado Springs, as a result of a traffic stop for the probable cause of No Operators License and a Hickory County Warrant charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Passing Bad Checks with a $5,000.00 bond.  She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On December 15, 2022, officers arrested James E. Cantrell, 43, of El Dorado Springs, for a Polk County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear with the original charges of Domestic Assault and Resisting Arrest with no bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On December 16, 2022, officers responded to 900 South First Street concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of $200.00. A suspect was identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 17, 2022, officers responded to 100 East Carmen Road concerning a larceny from a motor vehicle. This investigation revealed the theft of gasoline. A report taken and the investigation continues. 

On December 17, 2022, officers responded to 504 E Fields, Lot B2, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a 20 gallon propane tank. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 17, 2022, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of 2 propane tanks. A report taken and the investigation continues.
