Linda Gayle Lamb Hutchison, age 75, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away at her home surrounded by her husband and daughters on March 22, 2023, after a long hard-fought battle from complications of COPD.
Linda was born on June 14, 1947, to Ophie Estalee Morrow and Gus Franklin Lamb, Jr. in McMullen County, Texas. She was raised and schooled in different places in Texas and New Mexico as she and her family moved around often as her father’s employment was drilling oil wells. She graduated from Stanton High School in Stanton, Texas. Shortly after graduating high school, she married and had three daughters: Evon, Tracie, and Amy. In 1981 Linda met Bud while working as a waitress at Truck Town Café in Colorado City, Texas. Bud proposed to Linda and told her that if she married him that he would take her to “America,” which turned out to be Missouri. Linda loved Bud with all her heart and soul and would have followed him anywhere. Linda and “Bud” Carl Hutchison got married on July 4, 1984 in Nevada, Missouri, and lived in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
Linda held a variety of occupations: she was a waitress and cashier, she was a school bus driver both in Texas and Missouri, she was a bookkeeper for her uncle, S. O. Lamb, and Joe Moran, she welded and re-tipping drilling bits for oil field suppliers, she worked as a bank employee, she worked in a couple of sewing factories, but the occupation that she loved the most was driving an asphalt dump truck for the Alexander’s, which she did until her retirement.
Before moving to Missouri, Linda enjoyed skiing, fishing, and camping. Linda was great at water skiing and loved meeting her parents and other family members at Lake Texoma every summer for two weeks of camping on the lake, skiing, fishing, and visiting with her family members.
Linda lived a long and happy life but truly started to live and enjoyed her life after meeting the love of her life, “Bud” Carl Hutchison, and moving with him to Missouri. Linda embraced the country farm/ranch life whole-heartedly and loved all aspects of her new life with Bud. Linda enjoyed the animals on their homestead and threw herself into the chores and demands of keeping up the animals. She loved riding horses, driving horses, going to chicken swaps, and especially loved going on trail rides on horseback and on horse drawn wagon rides with her husband, friends, and neighbors. And she loved to play bingo in the surrounding area.
Linda immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. Linda had a great personality and was full of sass, stubborn to a fault. She loved a good argument and was never shy about putting her two cents into a conversation. She said what she thought and meant what she said. She had an unmatched determination and will power to accomplish any task set before her and did not stop until the job was complete to her satisfaction. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. We were grateful and blessed to know of her love and love her back.
Linda is survived by her Husband of 38 years, “Bud” Carl Howard Hutchison; daughter, Evon Mashell Owens and husband, Ronny; daughter, Tracie Lynn Molina and husband, Manuel; daughter, Amy Louise McIntosh and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren: Shane Allen Harbour, Eric Lane Harbour, Timothy Wayne Jones, Melanie Denise Jones Gonzalez, Brady Don Henderson, Kimberly Erin Henderson, Wylie, and Casey Renee Pritchard, 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Lynn Lamb and family; brother, Windon Roy Lamb and family; several aunts and uncles; nephew; nieces; numerous cousins; and her Chihuahua, Jojo.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Ophie Estalee Morrow Lamb; father, Gus Franklin Lamb, Jr.; and grandson, Bobby Lee Henderson.
