Mildred Doloris (Esry) Nikodim, 92, El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023. She was born July 6, 1930, the first born of seven children to Harry and Leona (Sumner) Esry. She loved the Lord and was saved and baptized at an early age. She attended country schools and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1947. Robert and Doloris married in the spring of 1947, to this union a son, Robert Wayne, and a daughter, Lois Ann, were born.
They lived in the Virgil City community. Doloris helped Robert on the farm; she also worked at the shoe factory for a short time and at the El Dorado Springs Hospital for five years. Later she worked at the El Dorado Springs Livestock Auction.
Robert passed away in 1986. After his death, she continued to live in the El Dorado Springs area. She loved lots of flowers and keeping her yard groomed. She also enjoyed crafting and needlework.
Doloris was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Leona (Sumner) Esry; husband, Robert; daughter, Lois Ann Gregory; sister, Elnora Seim; and bother Johnny Esry.
Survivors include her son, Wayne, and wife, Mary (Sorensen), of New Baltimore MI; granddaughters, Sue (Jeff) Malbouef, Patty (Rob) Randa, both of Michigan, and their children/grandchildren; grandsons, Troy (Lisa) Gregory and Andy (Fran) Gregory, both of Ohio, and their children; four sisters: Laura (Junior) Hammons – Lamar,, Roberta Walker – El Dorado Springs, Barbara Wallen – Stockton and Anna Ruth (Ed) Field – Muskogee, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Service for Doloris Nikodim were held Tuesday, March 28, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Interment followed at Virgil City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Pete Fast, Kent Fortney, Randy Esry, Dwayne Wallen, Troy Gregory and Jeff Malbouef.
Memorial donations may be made to the Virgil City Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
