Robert Leeroy “Sonny” Rust

Robert Leeroy “Sonny” Rust, 85, formerly of El Dorado Springs and Stockton, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023. He was born Sept. 11, 1937, in Kansas City, to James R. “Jim” Rust and Helen J. McCurdy.

He enjoyed fishing, junking and spending time with his family, especially his best buddy and brother-in-law, Bob.

Preceding Sonny in death were his father; his mother; his sisters, Buelha Lee, Juanita Mae, Mary Ann, Elizabeth and Mary Lena; and wife, Neva.

Sonny had no children but leaves behind plenty of family that share his bull-headed gene.

A funeral service for Sonny Rust was held Thursday, April 6,  at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Interment followed at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Richard Kreisel, Adam Kreisel, Johnny Larkie and Lark Larkie.
