Starting April 21, guests can once again begin booking the cabins at Big Lake State Park for arrival beginning May 1, thanks to the park team and Missouri State Parks northern construction crew.

The cabins closed in March 2019, due to major flood damage. Once repairs to the levee, which protects the park from flooding, were completed in summer of 2021, park team members began cleaning and repairing the sites to get cabins reopened.

Big Lake State Park features eight premium camper cabins overlooking Big Lake. The log cabins provide accommodations for up to four adults and two children. These accommodations include a queen size bed, a full size futon and a carpeted loft for sleeping bags. Guests must provide their own towels, linens, sleeping bags, coffee and filters and toiletries.

All cabins have air conditioning/heating, a bathroom with shower, kitchen with four-burner electric stove and oven, full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Kitchen pots and pans, cooking utensils, dining sets and trash cans/trash bags are provided with cabin rental. There are no televisions, phones or Wi-Fi connections in the cabins. Exterior amenities include a covered deck with lake view, picnic table, barbecue grill, outdoor fire ring and lantern post. Parking is designated for each unit and can accommodate two vehicles.

Cabins 4 and 5 are ADA accessible. Dogs are allowed in cabins 5 and 6 for an additional fee.

Tents or other alternate lodging accommodations are not allowed in the rental area. Cleanup and trash removal is the responsibility of the lodging guest and should be completed before check out. Smoking is not allowed inside any lodging unit.

Guests should self-check in upon arrival. The camper cabins are available for rent through Oct. 31. The on-season rate is $90 plus tax per night. The holiday weekend rate is $95 per night. Rates are for one to six occupants (four adults and two children). Full payment for your stay will be due at the time you make the reservation. Weekends require a two-night minimum stay. Holiday weekends require a three-night minimum stay. Check-in is at 3 p.m., with checkout by 11 a.m.

Reservations are required and must be made by 7 p.m. on the night prior to stay. To make a reservation, contact the Reservation Call Center at 877-422-6766 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. or visit icampmo1.usedirect.com/MSPWeb/. No same-day reservations are allowed.
