AMANDA SCHIERECK ON CCMH’S HEALTHY LIVING RADIO PROGRAM

We hope you will tune in to the “CCMH Healthy Living Radio Program” on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. on KESM 105.5 FM in El Dorado Springs featuring Amanda Schiereck, RN as she shares information about our Level III Stroke Certification at Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs. She will speak about how the brain is affected during a Stroke and the ABSOLUTE importance regarding treatment times to save lives and avoid long term problems. Every year, more than 795,000 people in the United States have a stroke with about 610,000 being new or “first” strokes. Amanda will explain that a large percentage, nearly 87%, are Ischemic Strokes in which blood flow to the brain is blocked. She will explain signs and symptoms with BEFAST — how best to recognize problems in ourselves or those around us — and how immediate treatment at a Level III Stroke Center such as ours at CCMH matters.
