TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Preferred Family Healthcare building, 700 E. Hospital Rd, El Dorado Springs on Thursday, June 8th, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Laura, our leader, called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “Welcome New Member”

We said our TOPS & KOPS Pledges

Laura led us in roll call; 18 members weighed in.  The chapter had a loss of 8.4 lbs. and a gain of 7.6 with a net Loss of 0.8 lbs.

Best loser for the week was Constance with a loss of 6.0 lbs. Congratulations Constance, keep up the good work, we are so proud of you.

Marble Game:  Judy B won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Samantha had the program today. She brought a sample of a recipe she found in the current copy of TOPS NEWS, Peanut Butter Oat Clusters, they were delicious. They are a great way to start the day healthy. She then talked about making the most of summer.  There are so many activities she and her children do in the summer to keep active and healthy. Take a morning walk, go on a picnic, go swimming. They go to the local pool, to the lake and various other places for a cooling swim.  She suggested TOPS members might want to start a buddy system. Each group of buddies would stay in contact via phone, email, text or other method at least twice a week to share meal plan for the day/week, a goal for the upcoming week, how your goal is going, minutes or days you were physically active, struggles you have been having and how you intend to overcome them, a new activity you have tried, a word of encouragement for your buddy and maybe even get a little competition going.  Great ideas Samantha, thank you for a great program

The quilt square was discussed. It was suggested we put the park gazebo in the middle, each side would have 50’s style dancers and chapter number on top and El Dorado Springs at the bottom. Laura asked for a vote by show of hands for approval. We will contact Marie’s daughter to see if she can do this for us.

We are working on arranging tables at our new location so everyone can see and hear.  Thanks to Constance we have a loudspeaker system we can use.  Ideas on how to arrange the tables for the most comfort is appreciated.

Ray and Judy B will have the program next week.

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto
