Grantson Harber Sublett (G.H.), 95, loved to serve the Lord. On June 2, 2023 he received his reward for being a good and faithful servant.

G. H. was born on Jan. 22,1928 to Curtis and Nevada (Harber) Sublett in McKenzie, TN. He attended school in Kansas City through sixth grade. His family moved to Kansas City, KS, where he completed his secondary education. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1946, completing his tour in 1949. He then attended University of Northwestern St. Paul. He married Patricia Davis in 1951. They both transferred to Baylor University in Waco, TX, and completed undergraduate degrees. He went to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

G. H. pastored the following churches: Austin Baptist Church, El Dorado Springs First Baptist Church, Blue Springs First Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs, Mountain Grove Baptist Church and Chaplin at Sunscape RV Park in Casa Grande, AZ.

His hobbies included raising cattle, riding his horses, flying small engine planes, playing cards and games, watching most sporting events, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals football. He enjoyed music, playing his accordion, singing or whistling. Being a very social person he shared many stories and jokes.

G.H. was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia (Pat), of 65 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Patrice Sublett – Gilbert, AZ; Shelly Wagner and husband, Ralph, – Hot Springs Village, AR; Nanette Tiner and husband, Lanny – Tonganoxie, KS; Hollee Walker and husband, Bruce – Sheldon. He also had seven grandchildren: Garrett Toms, Grant Wagner and wife, Lisa, Lyndsey Lanier and husband, Glenn, Christopher Chadwick and husband, Jesse, Christian Tiner, Wyatt Cross and Rachel Cross. He had four great-grandchildren: James Chadwick, Jonah Chadwick, Judah Chadwick, and Adeline Lanier.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at the First Baptist Church, El Dorado Springs.
