The Mt. Zion area is still waiting for rain; but has enjoyed the cooler weather while it lasted, but it is August. Farmers are making silos and bailing hay as the days are getting shorter. School starts this week.
Coagulations to Willie and Jael Crusha in the birth of twins a boy and a girl.
Florance French is recovery from her fall with a short stay at the nursing home; cards or visit would be nice.
Wanda Rector has gotten rested. She didn’t wait for the girls to check on her, she went to Bolivar and Springfield to check on them and spend a few days.
Judy Piepmeier got a good report from the eye doctor and is really enjoying getting her Sun newspaper in the mail.
Everyone enjoyed the Appleton City fair despite the hot weather; good to visit with neighbors and friends.
Kent Crawford visited Howard Peterson recently.
Over at the Robin Siegismund Farm, Belle has been enjoyed the cooler weather. She has been relaxing taking naps and dreaming wishing for snow to make snow angels. Belle never found enough mud to try making mud angels. Belle almost forgot and called Mutt, (Mark’s dog) by his real name; but did admit he is starting to earn his keep. Robin has been knitting colorful blankets all week. Mabel has been busy with the little people.
.John and Julia Snethen have had a quite week with Julia dog sitting and John running his bus route. Julia took the dogs back to Knob Noster Friday and spent the night waiting for Shella, Theo, and David to return home. On Saturday, they got there about 1:30 p.m. and visited a little before Julia returned home Saturday evening. John and Julia went to Knob Noster to pick up some things Julia forgot and then on to Warrensburg before retuning home. Julia visited Marge Zink and family.
