Judy Annette Renn, 77, El Dorado Springs, passed away peacefully at her home Monday Aug. 14, 2023. She was a beloved teacher, wife, aunt and friend to many.
Judy will be remembered for her happy-go-lucky spirit, heart of gold, infectious laugh and sharp sense of humor. She never forgot her students and generously gave back to her community through her time on the Cedar County Hospital Board, as a faithful member of First Baptist Church and through the countless meals delivered, calls made, and smiles given to those in the community who needed it.
Judy was born June 1, 1946, in Blytheville, AR. to Joseph Barrett Ramey and Mildred Ramey (Hood). She attended Arkansas State University, where she met her late husband, David (Dave) Renn. They called El Dorado Springs home for most of their adult life, and both taught in the El Dorado Springs public school district. Judy will be remembered for her P.E. classes where she shared her zest for life with thousands of students.
Judy loved to cook, travel, and spend time with her beloved husband, dogs and wonderful friends that became family.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Dave Renn; parents, (Joseph and Mildred Ramey); and her brother, Barry Ramey.
She is survived by her nieces, Jenna Mamer (Steve), Leah Coltrain (Zack), Stephanie Iskra (Frank) and Jennifer Skulski (Michael); brother-in-law Dean Renn; and sister-in-law, Rita Ramey.
A memorial service for Judy was held Saturday, Aug. 19, at the First Baptist Church under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Cedar County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or First Baptist Kitchen.
