Law enforcement activities
The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 95 requests for assistance this past week, Aug. 7-13. The requests were as follows:
Ambulance Assists 3, Animal Control 16, Assist Other Agencies 15, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 10, All Other Requests for Assistance 44, Summons 4.

Animal Control
Anyone interested in adopting animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report
On August 15, 2023, officers arrested Shelly Haynes, 46, of El Dorado Springs on an active Cedar County warrant for Failure to Appear with a $750.00 cash only bond. She was transferred to Cedar County pending a court appearance.

On August 15, 2023, officers arrested Joseph I. Wyatt, 38, El Dorado Springs, for an active Allen County Kansas warrant for Theft of Property or Services with no bond. He was transferred to Cedar County pending extradition.

On August 16, 2023, officers responded to 309 West Pine for a resorted Larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a five gallon gas can. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On August 16, 2023, officers responded to 117 West Broadway and arrested Charles A. Ferguson Jr. ,55, of Collins, for a active Polk County Warrant charging him with Assault 1st degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, Domestic Assault 1st degree with a bond of $75,000.00. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On August 18, 2023, officers arrested Sawyer Williams, 21, of El Dorado Springs for an active Cedar County Failure to Appear Warrant with the original charge of Insufficient Personal Flotation Devices. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On August 18, 2023, officers responded to 119 West Broadway in reference to an assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Alyssa R. Will, 18, of El Dorado Springs charging her with assault. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On August 19, 2023 I responded to 100 East Highway 54 on a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a fifth of Fireball Whiskey. A report was taken and the investigation continues.
